Shibui’s Gorgeous S/S 2017 Collection!
It’s been hard to keep up with everything that’s been going on at Wool & Grace lately. Between the NJ Wool Walk (which was amazing… thank you to everyone who stopped by over those four days!) to the Juniper Moon Trunk Show to the launch of our Lucia KAL, it’s been tough to keep tabs on the onslaught of gorgeous knitting patterns that were recently released.
That said, it’s NECESSARY to go back and take stock of the new Shibui collection. The patterns for Spring/Summer 2017 are so stunning, refined and classic, it’s practically impossible to narrow down this selection to a list of favorites. That said, I’ll do my best.

Clearly, Lucia is a favorite. Feel free to check out our recent blog post on this particular project, but we picked this piece for our KAL because it’s sophisticated and flattering and we could imagine it looking gorgeous on everyone. Knit with Shibui’s new Reed (a smooth, soft, fingering-weight linen), this piece has the most beautiful drape and texture. It’s done the most justice when it’s on a warm body, so don’t hesitate to ask to try it on or for someone to model it!

There are two gorgeous cardigans in this collection of patterns, but I favor Siena between the two. With ¾ length dolman sleeves and angled fronts which overlap, this piece has a bit of edge while functioning as a chic and versatile layer. It’s one of those pieces that looks cool on anyone who’s wearing it, and it can be styled to be crisp and professional or bohemian and relaxed. It’s knit in a combination of Reed and Lunar, but knits up into a lofty fabric, and quickly on a US 10 needle.

Athens is a long layering tank knit up with a single strand of Reed. It has a gorgeous a-line, a slightly scooped neckline and a split hem. It’s a flattering piece that can be worn easily throughout the summer. I imagine wearing something like this with light & flow wide-leg pants (with a pair of huge platform sandals), a pair of skinny white jeans or under a blazer and with some easy trousers at the office.

Of the two pullovers in the collection, one particularly caught my eye. Getty is a cropped piece knit in a combination of Twig and Cima. This simple, textured piece looks perfect for layering over a longer silk blouse or with the high-waisted silhouettes that are all the rage this season. Of all the pieces in the collection, this is the one that I’m dying to cast on the most.
Shibui’s collections are reliably on-trend while still being refined, sophisticated and classic. The rest of the collection is equally gorgeous to all the pieces mentioned, so please check out the rest of this gorgeous collection. Of course, stop by to see us and check out Shibui’s gorgeous yarns and get inspired for yourself!
